MHC Alloy Disc

1. What’s MHC Alloy Disc?
MHC alloy disc (Molybdenum Hafnium Carbon Alloy Disc) is a high-performance disc-shaped material made with high-purity molybdenum as the matrix, incorporating hafnium and carbon elements through powder metallurgy technology. It forms HfC dispersion strengthening phases internally, effectively enhancing high-temperature strength, creep resistance, and microstructural stability. It also features high melting point, low vapor pressure, and excellent thermal shock resistance, making it suitable for extreme conditions such as semiconductors, vacuum thermal fields, and high-temperature structural load-bearing applications.
2. Advantages of CTIA's MHC Alloy Disc
(1) High High-Temperature Strength: Room temperature ≈800 MPa, maintains high strength levels at 1000°C.
(2) Good Microstructural Stability: Recrystallization temperature above 1500°C, with minimal grain growth at high temperatures.
(3) Strong Creep Resistance: HfC particles effectively hinder dislocation movement and improve high-temperature deformation resistance.
(4) Excellent Thermal Properties: Melting point of 2620°C, low thermal expansion coefficient, and outstanding thermal shock resistance.
(5) Good Machinability: Suitable for precision stamping, turning, and grinding to meet complex forming requirements.
3. Preparation of CTIA's MHC Alloy Disc
High-purity molybdenum powder (Mo ≥98.5%) is uniformly mixed with hafnium sources (Hf: 1.0%–1.2%) and carbon sources (C: 0.05%–0.15%). After pressing and high-temperature sintering, HfC dispersion phases are formed in situ during heat treatment. Rolling and shaping processes are then applied to obtain a dense and uniform disc microstructure.
4. Applications of CTIA's MHC Alloy Disc
MHC alloy discs are widely used in vacuum furnace heating assemblies, structural components for electron beam and ion beam equipment, thermal field insulation and support parts, high-temperature mold gaskets, and aerospace hot-end load-bearing structures.
5. Specifications of CTIA's MHC Alloy Disc
