MHC Alloy Rod

MHC Alloy Rod Picture

1.What’s MHC Alloy Rod?
MHC alloy rod (Molybdenum Hafnium Carbon Alloy Rod) is a molybdenum-based high-temperature structural material. It uses high-purity molybdenum (Mo ≥98.5%) as the matrix with small additions of hafnium (Hf: 1.0%–1.2%) and carbon (C: 0.05%–0.15%). Through cold isostatic pressing and high-temperature vacuum hydrogen sintering above 2000°C, in-situ HfC dispersion-strengthened phases are formed. It overcomes the high-temperature softening limitation of pure molybdenum rods and delivers excellent load-bearing capacity under extreme thermal conditions.

2.Characteristics of CTIA’s MHC Alloy Rod
CTIA’s MHC alloy rod offers excellent high-temperature structural stability and mechanical performance:
(1) High-temperature strength retention above 1400°C
(2) Excellent creep resistance for long-term service
(3) Strong thermal shock resistance under rapid heating and cooling cycles
(4) Low vapor pressure, suitable for vacuum and inert atmospheres
(5) HfC dispersion strengthening effectively inhibits grain growth and improves microstructural stability

3.Applications of CTIA’s MHC Alloy Rod
CTIA’s MHC alloy rod is widely used in: (1) heating elements and support structures in vacuum heat treatment furnaces; (2) high-temperature components in semiconductor diffusion and deposition systems; (3) structural parts in electron beam and ion beam equipment; (4) guide rods and load-bearing components in high-temperature vacuum furnaces; (5) key structural materials in special industrial hot-zone systems.

4.Specifications of CTIA’s MHC Alloy Rod
(1) Diameter: 6–80 mm, customizable
(2) Length: 100–2000 mm, customizable
(3) Density: 9.8–10.2 g/cm³
(4) Surface condition: ground, turned finish

With nearly 30 years of expertise in molybdenum and molybdenum alloy manufacturing, CTIA has established a mature material design and thermomechanical processing system, enabling precise control of composition uniformity, grain structure, and densification. Based on stable powder metallurgy processes and strict quality standards, CTIA’s MHC alloy rod delivers consistent high-temperature performance and long-term service reliability, meeting the demanding requirements of semiconductor, vacuum thermal, and advanced industrial equipment applications. CTIA provides MHC alloy products including plates, sheets, rods, rings, tubes, and customized components.
