MHC Alloy in Vacuum Heat Treatment

MHC alloy (Molybdenum Hafnium Carbon Alloy) is HfC dispersion-strengthened molybdenum-based high-temperature alloy manufactured from high-purity molybdenum (Mo ≥98.5%) with the addition of hafnium (1.0%–1.2% Hf) and carbon (0.05%–0.15% C) via powder metallurgy, forming in-situ HfC strengthening phases. This microstructure significantly enhances high-temperature strength, creep resistance, and structural stability. With recrystallization temperature above 1500°C, melting point of approximately 2620°C, low vapor pressure, and high thermal conductivity, MHC alloy is well suited for critical hot zone components in vacuum heat treatment processes such as quenching, annealing, tempering, and brazing.
1. Advantages of CTIA's MHC Alloy in Vacuum Heat Treatment
(1) High room-temperature strength with excellent mechanical performance above 1000°C, enabling long-term high-temperature loading.
(2) HfC particles pin dislocations and grain boundaries, significantly reducing creep and preventing deformation of hot zone components.
(3) The recrystallization temperature above 1500°C prevents grain growth during thermal cycling, ensuring dimensional stability.
(4) The melting point of approximately 2620°C, combined with high thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion, improves temperature uniformity and thermal shock resistance.
(5) Supports precision machining of racks, trays, fixtures, and other vacuum heat treatment hot zone components.
2. Applications of CTIA's MHC Alloy in Vacuum Heat Treatment
(1) Vacuum Quenching Furnaces: Load frames, material racks, fixtures, and hot zone structural components.
(2) Vacuum Tempering Furnaces: Support parts, connecting components, and load-bearing structures.
(3) Vacuum Annealing Furnaces: Trays, material plates, support frames, and positioning components.
(4) Vacuum Brazing Equipment: High-temperature fixtures, positioning tools, and structural components.
